Tax Update – Pennsylvania e-Tides Completely Replaced by New myPATH Online Services

Starting November 30, 2022, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (DOR) online system, e-TIDES, will be retired and no longer be the online resource for electronically filing returns, making payments, or reviewing information for Pennsylvania tax purposes. All of these services, along with others, will now be accessed using the DOR’s new online portal, myPATH (https://mypath.pa.gov). Many taxpayers may have already transferred over to myPATH; however, the DOR expects to have all functions previously handled using e-TIDES, along with other additional functions, to be accessed using myPATH as of November 30, 2022.

The DOR has instructed all taxpayers that used e-TIDES to sign up for myPATH after November 30, 2022, if they have not already done so. To do this, you will need to:

  • Click on the link for “sign up” on the myPATH site.
  • You will then be prompted to create a profile, username, and password. Multifactor authentication (MFA) will also be required.
  • After the myPATH account is set up, taxpayers will need to enter their ID number or Revenue ID and the applicable tax type(s).
  • Beginning December 1, 2022, the DOR is expected to allow the option for a taxpayer to migrate their existing e-TIDES information directly into myPATH. Taxpayers who create a myPATH profile will be presented with a link to migrate e-TIDES access once logged in. At that point, you should be asked to enter your e-TIDES user IDs and passwords to gain access to your existing e-TIDES information.
  • Taxpayers having issues with creating their account on myPATH are asked to request an access letter, which will be sent to the address on file with the DOR.
  • In addition, the DOR has included information related to signing up and using the new myPATH portal at revenue.pa.gov.

Since the e-TIDES system will no longer be able to be used, all taxpayers currently using the e-TIDES system to file returns with Pennsylvania, make tax payments to Pennsylvania, or for any other reason must make sure to create a myPATH account as soon as possible if they have not already done so.
