CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA, JANUARY 7, 2019—S.R. Snodgrass, P.C., an independent accounting and consulting firm with offices in Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the promotion of Ian F. McDowell, CPA, from Vice President to Senior Vice President and Shareholder.

McDowell was recruited by the firm in 2005 following his graduation from Otterbein University. He began his career as an Associate in the Auditing and Assurance Group and progressed over the years to become Vice President and Principal in 2015. McDowell manages and oversees diverse engagements across Pennsylvania and in the mid-Atlantic region. His clients include banks, credit unions, hedge funds, investment companies, broker-dealers, manufacturing companies, not-for-profit entities, and employee benefit plans. McDowell is an enthusiastic conference speaker and frequently prepares firm technical newsletters and helpful client materials on behalf of the Auditing and Assurance Group.
McDowell received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Otterbein University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He also actively participates as a member of the PICPA’s Financial Institutions Committee and is a member of the PICPA Council. In 2017, the PICPA named McDowell a Young Leader for his demonstrated commitment to the accounting profession.
