Are you ready to make the most out of your career fair visit?

Here are some helpful tips!

  1. Research attending employers ahead of time

    • Before any Career Fair, there will usually be a list of the employers attending the event. Take time to research the employers attending and the positions they are hiring for. This will also help you prioritize employers and who you want to visit during the event.
  2. Bring copies of your resume

    • Bring more than enough copies of your resume to share with potential recruiters. Recruiters will be meeting with multiple candidates at Career Fairs, so a resume, including your contact information, will allow them to review your experience and reach out to you after the fair.
  3. Prepare your elevator pitch

    • It can be intimidating to approach an employer at a Career Fair. To feel better prepared, practice a brief 1-minute elevator pitch that highlights who you are, what you have accomplished, and what you are looking to achieve. Practice your pitch a few times prior to the event to ensure that you make the best fist impression possible.
  4. Identify a few questions to ask employers during the Career Fair

    • In addition to your elevator pitch, you should prepare 3-4 questions to ask employers at the fair. Some questions can be more specific depending on the employer. However, having a question or two in your back pocket will help keep the conversation going and will show your interest in the company.
  5. Make the most of your time—visit employers you may have skipped at first
